How often will new information be added to ELCircle?
Each month members can expect new content added to ELCircle. The minimum updates you will see are new lessons from founder Jim Canterucci, an interview with a CEO or senior leader, as well as a guest lesson from a top leadership teacher. Also, our ELCircle Advisors will contribute content regularly.
In addition, we will continue to add leadership tips and discuss issues for emerging leaders on the ELCircle blog. Please subscribe to the blog so you don’t miss announcements and more general content.
How does the 14 day trial work?
We want you to decide if ELCircle is for you. We couldn’t think of a better way than to let you experience it. For 14 days you can access most of ELCircle. During the first 7 days you will receive an email each day (please be sure to opt-in when you receive the initial email). In that email we provide a link to a short video that gives you more information about ELCircle. These videos are designed to introduce the various features to you. Explore, see a variety of lessons from a variety of sources on the site. Some lessons are entry-level and some are very high-level graduate level content. We have information within these extremes as well. So, take your time, check out a good sampling.
When you decide that ELCircle is right for you, simply upgrade your membership. You’ll continue to receive the email introductory videos which will be helpful to increase your comfort with the system.
Why aren’t you taking my credit card details for the trial membership?
We want you to try all the features of ELCircle and truly sample the content, even beginning work toward your ELCircle Certification for free without worrying about being billed automatically at the end of your trial.
What happens at the end of my 14 day trial?
After your 14 day trial you’ll be prompted to begin your full membership. You can choose the ELCircle Basic membership or while available, you may choose the ELCircle Private Access membership that includes monthly phone coaching with ELCircle founder Jim Canterucci.
Is there a long-term contract?
There is simply a monthly fee. We realize that situations change. You can choose to cancel your membership at any time and the billing will simply stop.
Why is the price so low?
One of the major logistical barriers to great leadership education reaching the right people is cost. It’s expensive. The professionals providing ELCircle content charge clients thousands of dollars per day for live training workshops. Compare that to the $25 per month and corporate volume discounts and you can see that we are serious about reaching every emerging leader who needs solid professional development. With web technology, we are able to reach scores of people who wouldn’t otherwise have the benefit of this content. Each of the content providers are interested in sharing their content with many more people than they can in person. That’s why they’ve agreed to participate in this project and work closely with you. We’ve agreed that offering ELCircle at a price point well below market value for this level of quality, proven content and follow-up makes sense if we can assist more emerging leaders to build solid careers.
How does the Training Leader membership work?
The number one goal for a training leader is to prepare the workforce for the needs and opportunities of the future. Understanding how content fits into the overall development plan for the important emerging leader category is critical. We’ve created a one year no cost ELCircle membership for qualified training leaders. This allows the training leader to evaluate the lessons and content at ELCircle and begin to create a customized recommended path of development for their teams.
We work with training leaders to enroll their teams of emerging leaders in ELCircle and design special reporting to support their goals.
How do I upgrade my membership level?
At any time during your 14 day trial you can upgrade your membership to the ELCircle Basic or ELCircle Private Access membership. On any screen, in the right hand column you’ll see the link Site Admin. Click on this link to access your profile in ELCircle. In the left column menu select Order Membership. This screen shows the membership upgrades for which you are eligible. Click Order Now and you’re on your way.
How does the ELCircle Certification process work?
Whatever your goals, it’s critical to keep track of your progress along the journey. The ELCircle Certification process is designed to support this. As you participate in any ELCircle content we capture your progress. For each lesson, if you complete the video, answer the review questions, and rate the value of the lesson it is considered a completed lesson on your record.
Each lesson is assigned an hour value (usually .25 or .5). You receive credit for completed lessons. To become ELCircle Certified, you must complete a minimum of 18 hours of lessons and content over the course of twelve months. To maintain ELCircle Certification you must complete a minimum of six hours each subsequent year.
To access your record, on the right side of each screen, click on the link, My ELCircle Progress. This screen shows your progress to date. Your record is updated once each day so may not reflect lessons just completed. From this screen, you can email your record to anyone you wish, perhaps to let your manager or mentor know of your progress.
Training Leaders will receive monthly reports on progress for each of their members.
How is the content laid out in the site?
We view the topic areas of ELCircle as parallels to a typical organization structure. We will ultimately have content in each departmental area. The perspective though is from an emerging leader’s perspective. So, although you may find lessons filed in the Finance area, that doesn’t mean we are going to be teaching everything a finance person needs to learn to do their job. Rather, you’ll see content regarding how the finance person deals with the rest of the organization or correspondingly how the rest of the organization deals with finance. You’ll find basics about how to read financial statements, how budgets are set, and how to dig deeply into the annual financial plan to generate more revenue or profit as well.
The information in ELCircle is organized in many different ways to make it easy for you to find. You may see a single lesson filed under CEO Interviews, Departments, and Road Maps.
Can I request a topic?
Absolutely! ELCircle is valuable because of input from our members. Suggestions from our members allow us to prioritize the introduction of content. We’ve created lessons earlier than planned because of needs of our members. We have access to a wide variety of content experts and if we don’t currently have the specific area of expertise on our development team we’ll seek it out for you. So, please contact us at any time to suggest content areas – skill lessons you’d like to see, problems you’re grappling with, or perspectives you’d like to see.
How do I sign up my organization?
If you are an ELCircle member and would like to formally recommend that your colleagues join ELCircle as well, the best approach is to recommend that your organization and training leaders access ELCircle with the Training Leaders Membership accessible from a menu button at the top of the ELCircle home page. This will allow the leaders to experience ELCircle. We can then work with your training leaders to create a specific program to enroll your colleagues. We can always help you with this.
